As my personal small gesture of resistance, meant especially as help for friends and acquaintances in the US, I’ve compiled a list with public health information resources from inside and outside the US, that will hopefully help bridging this gap.
It will be meagre attempt, since the information provided by the CDC has been invaluable even for us living outside of the US. What a tragedy.

Further Information

<img src="/icons/info-alternate_green.svg" alt="/icons/info-alternate_green.svg" width="40px" />
What I’m including in this collection:
- Broad evidence based health information from reliable sources
- especially provided by public health bureaus of mainly English or Spanish speaking countries with close ties to the citizens of the United States or reliable international health organisations like the WHO
- Information about ongoing public health issues, health crises, infectious diseases and food-borne illnesses from reliable sources
- this usually will mean public, government funded sources with the capacity and the staff to provide information quickly and accurately!
- Evidence based and up-to-date Information about vaccines, since this is information, that will most likely be attacked and possibly made unavailable by the Trump administration and its cronies
- Foreign country information will provide basic knowledge about vaccines but unfortunately no information for US citizens how to access vaccinations!
- Health information for trans people, since this is information that will most likely made unavailable or altered to the point of uselessness by the Trump administration and its cronies
- Monitoring tools for ongoing health crises from reliable sources
- Health information blogs who have proven their commitment to evidence based and carefully fact-checked information in the past
- sadly, some of those are (at least in parts) behind paywalls
- Reliable and evidence-based health journalism
What I’m not including in this collections (and still won’t in the future):
- Organisations that are mainly health advocacy groups, think tanks, lobby organisations or organisations focussing mainly on one topic. Exception: Information about trans health care.
- Resources provided by organisations who lack the staff or funds (or the will) to keep it up-to-date, especially during rapidly developing health related events
- Sources, that don’t pass my personal vetting process.
What I would like to include in the future (If you know of sources providing the following information, please make me aware of them):
- Reliable statewide, regional or local information & monitoring about ongoing he alth related issues, food-borne illnesses, infectious diseases, access to vaccinations, etc.
- Especially provided by public health offices of blue states or local authorities, who are not under the direct influence of the Trump administration
- Monitoring resources
- Reliable sources providing (preferably free) access to recent life-science studies.
- Reliable foreign public health organisations or universities, providing up-to-date health information curated with US citizens in mind.
